The nicotine booster is the nicotine product that vapers add to their DIY e-liquid preparation.

Since the release of the Tobacco Products Directive, it is no longer possible to offer for sale vials of liquid containing nicotine of more than 10 ml. This, therefore, poses a problem for the manufacture of its e-liquid (the DIY) because we can no longer offer large volume bases with nicotine.

This is what the nicotine booster was invented for. It is a base with a volume of 10 ml with a high nicotine level of 20 mg/ml (the maximum authorized by law) which will have to be mixed with a base without nicotine to obtain a nicotine base.

Indeed, a booster bottle consists of propylene glycol, vegetable glycerin (or VG, allowing the production of vapour), nicotine and sometimes even aromas! The real difference lies in the fact that a booster is particularly dosed in nicotine. With a concentration of 18, 19 or even 20mg/ml of nicotine, it allows you to nicotine e-liquids of more than 10ml. In any case, the ingredients are the same as an e-liquid, a booster is simply much more dosed in nicotine.

If it is not dangerous to vape a booster as it is, it is not advisable to do so! A booster has the function of being mixed with a non-nicotine e-liquid. If a booster only consists of propylene glycol (PG), VG and nicotine, the concentration of the latter are very high. The hit is therefore very strong and the overdose can be reached quickly. In addition, since a booster is generally devoid of flavours, it is not very pleasant to vape it alone.

Do we have to add nicotine boosters to e-liquids?

For smokers who wish to quit, the dosage of nicotine is essential to their withdrawal. Flavours are also important as the taste of the liquid should appeal. It is also for this reason that some former smokers are moving towards fruity tastes to move away from the flavour of a classic cigarette. Of course, it is not mandatory to use a booster bottle. Some vapers who have finished weaning no longer need nicotine and therefore vape large-capacity e-liquids without nicotine. Each vaper is different and the electronic cigarette adapts to each need.
